Budget Eco-Tours Uganda: Primates-Wildlife (Ref: NAAS770UG)

Day 1: Entebbe/Kampala-Bwindi forest

After your breakfast at the hotel, our guide-driver will meet you and exchange greetings. Thereafter transfer to western Uganda via Masaka-Mbarara highway to Bwindi home of endangered mountain gorillas. Stopover at the Uganda Equator for snacks and photos before continuing to Agip Motel for Lunch en-route. After drive straight to Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest as you view scenic hills and amazing natural canopies and you will relax to the charms of the mountain rainforest. Dinner and Overnight at Bwindi Engagi lodge/Kitandara Camp or Buhoma Camp/Bwindi View inn. (Meal plan: half-board).

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Experience

After an early morning breakfast, we will be briefed by the Uganda wildlife officials, after which we enter into the jungle for your gorilla tracking in the forests of Bwindi. Gorilla tracking can be strenuous because of Bwindi’s challenging terrain. This activity is a full day memorable experience and therefore you will need to carry a packed lunch and drinking water, wear comfortable boots or study shoes, a light rain jacket as Bwindi has unpredictable weather, insect repellent, sun screen, hut, photographic cameras. Walking sticks will be available from the park rangers. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. (Meal plan: Full-board).

Day 3: Bwindi - Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast we head to the local community trail to visit the most unique people of Uganda, the Batwa, once forest dwellers; visit the typical home steads of Bakiga, the traditional healers, local breweries and the local community craft shops. After return to the lodge for lunch, then depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha Sector, the southern isolated and fine-looking section of Queen Elizabeth National Park; search its famous rare African tree-climbing lions. It is stunning if you are lucky to see the lions enfold from the trees and you will also see hippos, buffalos and topis among others. Check-in at the hotel to have some time for relaxation at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Katara lodge/Hippo Camp or Bush Lodge/Mweya Hostel. (Meal plan: full - board).

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth National Park (Game drive & Boat ride)

At dawn we shall embark on game drive, spotting wildlife like the big five: elephants, lions, hippos, buffaloes, leopard, spotted and the elusive giant forest hog in this park and as well as reptiles. All these are regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya Peninsula.

In the afternoon we shall go for a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel, where the concentration of water birds and photographs is extraordinary. A variety of birds grace the grasses on the channel edge and these may include the Great White and Pink-Backed Pelicans, Great and Long-tailed Cormorants, Open-billed Stork, African Jacana, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers. There is also a Bird Observatory here, which was set up with the aim of studying both migratory and resident birds. Since its inception in 1997 more new species have been identified, including Uganda’s first record of the Bar-tailed Godwit.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight (Meal plan: Full Board).

Day 5: Queen national park (Chimp trek & Game drive)

After our early morning breakfast, we go to Kyambura gorge for chimp trek though they are unpredictable, the nature walk is awesome and informative. Return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter we return for another game drive to search more animals and birds.

Return to lodge for dinner and overnight (Meal plan: Full-Board).

Day 6: Queen-Kampala

Take breakfast and embark on our journey back to Kampala taking en-route game drive to spot elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, hippos and others on your way out. Have lunch en-route in Mbarara town or Masaka and reach Kampala later in the afternoon. (Meal plan: Half-board)
